Tug Boat

A tug, sometimes known as a tugboat, is a secondary vessel that aids in the docking or berthing of a ship by dragging or pushing it towards the port. To enter a port, mega-ships require the use of a tug, which is a special sort of boat. Tug boats can be used to give the vessel with basics such as water, air, and other supplies in addition to dragging the vessel towards the harbor. By pushing or dragging vessels towards the port, tug boats make vessel maneuvering easier.

Tug boat applications:

Tug boat applications and functions vary by port, as different ports have distinct requirements and intakes. Pushing or pulling mega boats or barges is the most prevalent, and their use is determined by the following factors:

  • The volume of traffic at the port,
  • Ships that will be served by that tug,
  • Obstacles to navigation must be addressed.
  • Environmental protection conditions,
  • Local laws and regulations
  • A tug will be used to transport domains.
